Transition Smuggler

John’s Smuggler

The Build

If you know John, you know that he knows bikes. The best part is he knows how to apply this knowledge to individual riders so that their bike is optimized specifically for them. So you can bet that his Transition Smuggler is tuned perfectly to his liking. From suspension tuning with a RockShox Super Deluxe RCT and an MRP Ramp control cartridge in his Rockshox Pike to a size large frame with a 55mm stem to match his fit, John’s Smuggler is built specifically for him. He applies this same attention to detail to all the customer bikes he builds.

If you ask him though he will tell you that the Transition Smuggler, even without custom tuning, is a solid bike. The efficient 120mm of rear travel allows for big days of pedaling in the saddle but can be opened up on steep and technical descents. The Speed Balanced Geometry also gives an increase in front tire traction while cornering and puts you in a comfortable climbing and descending stance. His tuning and custom changes make an extremely capable bike even more capable and confidence inspiring for him.
