Transition Patrol Wins Vital MTB Shreddy Award – Bike of the Year

If you haven’t heard already, Vital MTB has awarded their infamous Shreddy Awards Bike of the Year to the Transition Patrol. Vital MTB gave the award based on its on-trail performance, durability, and dependability. Watch the video below and see all they had to say about the 2018 Transition Patrol.

The best part about this award is that it confirms our thoughts after riding the Patrol. Kyle our Lead technician and Cary our Sales Manager are both owners of the 2018 Patrol and have been raving about its capabilities. Here is what they thought about the bikes performance.

2018 Transition Patrol at Project Bike a Bend Oregon Bike Shop

“I chose the Patrol over the other long travel 27.5 options because I was curious about the Speed Balanced Geometry. The long reach and slack head tube makes the bike a capable descender while the steep seat tube allows me to get comfortable when climbing. I thought this was going to be my dedicated bike park ride, but it has quickly turned into quite the capable trail bike.”

Kyle's Patrol

“The 2018 Patrol is the best bike I have ever ridden! What I am most impressed with is the bikes ability to retain characteristics that would seem to be mutually exclusive. For instance, the slack geo is confidence inspiring when the trail is steep and rowdy, yet the bike is still nimble in tight corners. The suspension platform feels bottomless and planted but also has a playful nature when you take it there. The Patrol is best suited for aggressive all-mountain trail terrain and bike parks laps.”

Kyle Miller
Lead Technician

Our patrols have been ridden in a variety of conditions including Bend, and Oakridge. While there have already been some amazing rides, we are looking forward to continuing to put the bike through it’s paces.

If you are looking to give the 2018 Transition Patrol a try yourself then you are in luck… We will have The Patrol in our demo/rental fleet come spring 2018. In the meantime check out a little of Cary riding the Patrol in Oakridge.
